Sensitive doesn’t mean use nothing. It means introduce carefully and prioritise barrier comfort over trend actives.
At a glance
Time: 1-week calm plan · Age: all ages · Basics only until sting stops.
Steps — calm week
- Use fragrance-light cleanser and moisturiser you already tolerate.
- SPF every outdoor day — patch-test if SPF is new.
- Pause acids, retinol, strong vitamin C, and physical scrubs.
- After 7 calm days, add back one product only (patch-test first).
Side effects if you push through
- Worsening redness, cracks, stinging water, sleep loss from itch.
- Stop experiments; see sting wash-off guide; seek care for severe signs.
