Face wash: morning only, night only, or both?
Match cleanse frequency to oil and climate — 1–2 minutes, without stripping.

Cleansing should remove SPF, sweat, and grime without leaving your face tight. Twice-daily harsh foam is a common reason cheeks sting by noon.
At a glance
Time: 1–2 minutes · Night: almost always · Morning: optional if dry or sensitive · Age: all ages
Steps
- Evening: cleanse once after the day (SPF and dust). Massage gently 30–60 seconds; rinse well.
- If you wear heavy makeup or waterproof SPF, a soft oil/balm first pass can help — then a gentle rinse-off. Skip if you are reactive.
- Morning: if skin feels comfortable, water rinse may be enough. If you are oily in humidity, use a mild cleanse.
- Pat dry. Moisturise. SPF in the morning.
Side effects of over-cleansing
- Tightness, flaking, rebound oil, stinging moisturiser.
- Stop the harsh wash if you see cracks or burning with water.
