A first routine should be short enough that you actually do it on school days. Clear skin starts with a calm barrier and daily SPF — not five serums.
At a glance
Time: ~5 min morning, ~3 min night · Age: 13–17 · You’ll need: gentle cleanser, moisturiser, sunscreen.
Steps — evening
- Cleanse once with a gentle face wash (30–60 seconds). Don’t scrub with rough tools daily.
- Apply moisturiser on slightly damp skin.
- Stop there. No acid toner, no retinol, no “brightening” stack.
Steps — morning
- Rinse with water or use a soft cleanse if you are very oily or wore heavy SPF.
- Moisturiser if cheeks feel tight.
- Sunscreen on face and neck — proper amount (see SPF guide). Reapply if outdoors long.
Side effects if you overdo it
- Over-cleansing: tight, shiny-dehydrated skin by afternoon.
- Skipping SPF: more pigment and burn risk on outdoor commute.
- Adding acids too early: sting, flaking, more breakouts.
